Lot 5: Networking

Sub-lot 1: Passive Networking

The planning, design, project management, implementation, testing and handover of the following passive networking components:

Fibre connections, fibre patching and trays, patch leads and connectors, copper connections, copper patching, cabinetry, power provision and earthing, and trunking, ducting and containment.

Also includes the following services:

  • Surveying, auditing, and testing.

  • Project and Programme Management Services.

  • Competent and reliable sales processes, and Account Management.

  • Efficient delivery, despatch, and shipping processes.

  • Certification, warranties, and maintenance.

  • Waste Management, recycling and WEEE compliance.

Sub-lot 2: Active Networking

The planning, design, project management, implementation, testing and handover of the following active networking components:

Core switching solutions and ancillaries, edge switching and ancillaries, wireless networking, Cloud controller provision and setup, and Cloud management and monitoring.

Also includes the following services:

    • Surveying, auditing, and testing.

    • Project and Programme Management Services.

    • Competent and reliable sales processes, and Account Management.

    • Efficient delivery, despatch, and shipping processes.

    • Certification, warranties, and maintenance.

    • Waste Management, recycling and WEEE compliance.

    • Training (in particular, training and handover to technical staff and key users).

Sub-lot 3: Network Security

The planning, design, project management, implementation, testing and handover of the following Network Security components:

  • Firewalling and associated Network Security Services.

  • Filtering and Monitoring of Filtering Services.

  • Safeguarding and Prevent Monitoring.

  • Penetration Testing and Security.

  • Antivirus Protection.

  • Secure Remote Connectivity.

A further competition for Lot 5 would typically take between 3 – 6 months, depending on the size of your organisation and the complexity of your requirements.

Requirements gathering phase: Gathering requirements for bid documentation 1 – 3 weeks

Bid document creation: Drafting and approving further competition tender pack 1 – 3 weeks

ITT phase: Bidders respond to tender 1 – 3 weeks

Evaluation phase: Customer evaluates bid submissions 1 – 3 weeks

Stand-still period: Legally required 10-day pause before contract signing 10 calendar days

Contract signing: Signing the contract with the preferred bidder 1 – 3 weeks
